The Memorial Health Care System Foundation was formed to enhance Memorial's ability to provide the best possible health care to our community with the latest in technology and the highest-caliber physicians. To date, the Foundation has raised more than $12 million in private funding from individuals, foundations and corporations. These gifts have built the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Center, the Schmissrauter Center for Cancer Support, and a 20-bed inpatient cancer unit. They have funded programs critical for the care of patients and assisted the hospital in the purchase of a mobile mammography coach and countless pieces of equipment. The needs of a high-quality health care system are constant.
