Friends of Memorial
In 1952, nearly 60 years ago, Memorial Hospital was founded by individuals who were concerned about the availability of healthcare in the Chattanooga community. This concern led them to believe they should build a new hospital. That “should” became “could” as they united behind this cause and opened the doors of Memorial Hospital, the area’s only faith-based hospital, on January 2, 1952.
The Chattanooga can-do spirit lives on today with annual contributions through Friends of Memorial to the Memorial Health Care System Foundation. Community support has helped secure cutting-edge technology, extended services and health education to those in need, and a positive impact on the health and well-being of thousands. Through donations of $100 or more every year, Friends of Memorial are successfully impacting health care in our region each year.
