Inspired Heroes

This is your chance to be a hero.
You have the power to help treat heart disease; the power to help damaged lungs breathe again; and the power to provide comfort and relief to those who need it most. By joining the campaign for Memorial, you will make a difference that will be felt for generations, leaving a lasting legacy of world-class health care that will keep the region healthy for decades to come.
The campaign has five main components:
The Heart Center
Heart disease is the leading killer in the United States. Our region suffers from cardiovascular disease at rates that are 15% higher than the national average. With the addition of the new seven-story, 300,000 square feet Heart Center, we can provide the entire Southeast with life-changing world-class cardiac care. The Heart Center will include:
- 7 new cath labs
- 96 private rooms
- New short-stay unit
- State-of-the-art imaging center with the latest MRI and PET scanners
- A Wellness and Prevention Pavilion, housing cardiac rehabilitation and community education facilities
The Lung Center
Lung diseases run rampant in the counties surrounding Memorial. There are more than 40,000 individuals with adult asthma, 20,000 with chronic bronchitis and 8,000 with emphysema. With the addition of the new Lung Center, we can help everyone breathe easier by providing the best in pulmonary care. The Lung Center includes:
- Nurse navigators to guide patients through the entire continuum of care
- Advanced imaging technology, including digital chest X-ray equipment and endobronchial ultrasound scanners
- Oxygen connectors throughout the facility
- Early stage lung cancer screenings
- A pulmonary function testing lab
- A dedicated research facility
The Infusion Center
Infusion treatment is the delivery of medication into the bloodstream by intravenous means. Many types of chemotherapy drugs are given through infusion. These treatments can last hours, often in environments that don’t allow for much privacy or comfort. With your help, we can provide relief to these patients and their families in the new Infusion Center, a space specifically designed for infusion therapy. The Infusion Center includes:
- An on-site pharmacy where patients can receive their medications more quickly
- Private and group treatment rooms
- Additional space to treat even more patients in comfort
- Convenient and easier access for patients and their families
- A private oasis for reflection and relaxation, among other amenities for patients and their loved ones
The Surgery Program
As the area’s premier health care provider, more than 24,000 people a year are turning to Memorial for surgical procedures—and that number is growing fast. To meet the rising needs of the region, we’ll need to provide our patients with the latest technology and the space to heal in quiet comfort. To that end, the new Surgery Program will include more than 100,000 square feet of new construction and an extensive renovation of the current space, including:
- 27 operating rooms
- A state-of-the-art hybrid operating suite that can quickly transform to accommodate nearly any situation
- New private waiting areas
- Better-designed areas for more positive patient experiences and outcomes, built after comprehensively consulting with highly trained and experienced physicians and staff members
The Chapel
Faith is the cornerstone of Memorial’s mission, as we believe that comprehensive health care must see to the needs of both the body and the spirit. With your help, we can continue to provide the best in physical and spiritual care with the new Chapel, an all-inclusive space that welcomes all faiths and beliefs. The chapel will feature:
- A central location, so it will be easily accessible to all patients and visitors
- Beautiful stained glass windows from the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Motherhouse in Kentucky
