Support Services

Information, guidance and compassionate support services are offered to cardiac patients, family members and friends at the Regional Heart Center at Memorial Hospital. Social services, nutritional education and volunteer cardiac ambassadors are available to answer questions and help families cope with changes in their lives after heart treatment.

CPR for Family and Friends
This two-hour class teaches basic skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants and how to help someone who is choking. The American Heart Association designed this program to help increase survival rates in communities. A minimal fee is required.

Heart Failure Class
This free, weekly educational class provides support for patients with congestive heart failure, a condition that occurs when the heart has difficulty pumping enough blood to meet the needs of the body’s tissues. Class facilitators specialize in helping individuals manage their heart failure and live quality lives. The Heart Failure Class is available at Memorial Hospital.
