What: Memorial Health Care System will host a topping out ceremony to celebrate the placement of the highest steel beam of the North Tower construction at Memorial’s Glenwood campus.
When: Tuesday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m.
Where: The Chattanooga Heart Institute, 2501 Citico Ave., Chattanooga, Tenn., 37404
Why: A topping out ceremony is a tradition which migrated to America with European craftsman. The ceremony marks the moment when the highest structural point in the building construction has been attained. To celebrate this event, the last steel beam is signed and hoisted into place. The North Tower construction is a component of Memorial’s Master Facility Plan, a $318 million expansion and renovation project that will improve and update Memorial facilities at both the Glenwood and Hixson campuses.
