2016-2017 PGY-1 Residents
Shane Church (PGY-1) Shane was born and raised in Hurley, VA. He completed his undergraduate degree at King University majoring in mathematics and also received a Master of Education from Milligan College. After teaching high school mathematics for five years, he returned to college and received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Belmont University College of Pharmacy. During his time in pharmacy school, he was involved in several pharmacy organizations including SNPhA, APhA-ASP, and the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. His clinical interests include infectious disease, internal medicine, and pharmacy education. Outside of pharmacy, Shane enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling to various theme parks, and listening to the classics on vinyl.
Jenny Gibson (PGY-1) Jenny grew up here in Chattanooga, graduating from Girls Preparatory School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies at Boyce College in Louisville, KY. She earned her Pharm.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. She participated in several pharmacy organizations, including SNPhA, APhA-ASP and Rho Chi honor society. Jenny’s clinical interests include infectious diseases and critical care. In her free time, Jenny loves quality time with friends and family, a good book or movie, and listening to great music.
Justin Reinert (PGY-1) Justin was born and raised in Fleetwood, PA and completed his pre-pharmacy curriculum at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a concentration in chemistry. He earned his Pharm.D. from South College School of Pharmacy in Knoxville, TN where he held numerous leadership positions, having served as a Member-at-Large for the Tennessee Society of Student Pharmacists and a student delegate to the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. Additionally, Justin was the president of his class as well as a member of the Phi Lambda Sigma pharmacy leadership society. Justin’s clinical interests include cardiology, critical care medicine, internal medicine, infectious diseases, and pharmacy management/administration. Outside of pharmacy, Justin enjoys exploring Chattanooga, playing music, searching for antiques, and cooking.
Meredith Tate (PGY-1) Meredith grew up in Marietta, Georgia but her parents have since moved to Annapolis, Maryland. She completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University where she also earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy. During pharmacy school, she was involved in several organizations, including APhA and Alabama Pharmacy Association. Meredith’s clinical interests include internal medicine, critical care medicine, and ambulatory care. During her spare time, Meredith loves to travel, cook, and spend time with family and friends.
