Mobile mammography

Since 2005, CHI Memorial’s Mobile Health Coaches have provided the latest in breast cancer screenings to women, many of whom might not otherwise have been able to afford or access screenings. The 40-foot vans travel thousands of miles each year so that more women can receive high-quality, essential breast cancer screenings.

  • Each coach features two dressing rooms, a waiting area, and a mammography room with advanced digital equipment. It’s the same technology you’ll find at our other MaryEllen Locher Breast Center locations.
  • The mobile coaches are on the road at four to six days a week, making one to two stops each day. Many women - especially those working second or third shift - love the convenience of simply walking over to the coach when it pulls up near their workplace to have their annual mammogram.
  • Comfort is a key factor, too. The mobile coaches are staffed with women technologists who are certified in breast mammography. Ask about our softer mammograms.
  • The coaches extend access to residents in 28 counties across Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

No insurance? No problem!

Screening mammograms are covered for eligible women year-round. Financial assistance is available for those who don't have health insurance, underinsured and those who can't afford a copay or deductible.

Women are encouraged to make appointments, but walk-ins are also welcome. In an effort to expedite the registration process, links to patient information sheets are included here. You may click on the links to download and print the forms. Bringing complete forms with you to the appointment will speed up the process.
