Hospital Georgia Support
Since we began planning for a replacement hospital in North Georgia, CHI Memorial has strived to listen and respond to our patients’ and communities’ needs and desires. Following the recent approval of our Certificate of Need (CON) by Georgia officials and the subsequent appeal of our approved CON by Parkridge Medical Center, a Tennessee-based health system, we felt it was important to pause and assess the degree to which community members:
- Support construction of a state-of-the-art, full-service replacement hospital in North Georgia;
- Are aware of Parkridge’s appeal of our approved CON and the impact it could have on construction of North Georgia’s replacement hospital;
- Believe construction of a replacement hospital in North Georgia will impact the economy of the North Georgia/Chattanooga region and
- Feel an out-of-state health system should be able to influence construction of a replacement hospital in another state.
Overwhelmingly:
More than 9 in 10 Respondents Strongly Agree | Having access to a state-of-the-art, full-service hospital is important to the health of the people living in the region. |
91% of Respondents Somewhat or Strongly Agree | Residents in a region should decide what kind of healthcare their community needs. |
89% of Respondents Answered “No” | Should a hospital in Tennessee, like Parkridge, be able to block the replacement of an aging hospital in Georgia? |
Nearly 85% of Respondents Answered “No” | Should Parkridge be able to block the new hospital? (A finding consistent across Hamilton, Catoosa, Walker, and Dade Counties) |

We stand with the residents of Hamilton, Catoosa, Dade and Walker Counties in calling on Parkridge to stand down so we can build the hospital our community needs and deserves. Visit CHIMemorialNow.org to learn more about how you can help.
