    The Rees Skillern Cancer Institute and CHI Memorial will host the 2018 Southeast Regional Oncology Symposium for primary care providers on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Embassy Suites by Hilton from 7:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. James R. Headrick, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon, is the program director.

  • Lee Ann Flinn, RN, receives Daisy award for extraordinary nurses

    Lee Ann Flinn, registered nurse (RN) at CHI Memorial, recently received the award after she was nominated by a patient who says Flinn provided hope during a difficult time. Flinn has worked as a registered nurse at CHI Memorial since January 2001 and currently works in Unit 3 at CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson.

    On Monday, June 25, 2018, The Georgia Department of Community Health announced its approval of CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia’s certificate of need application to provide full-service cancer services with new equipment at CHI Memorial Parkway in Ringgold, GA.

  • CHI Memorial receives, donates life-saving narcan

    CHI Memorial has received 900 dosage units of the life-saving drug Narcan® (naloxone HCI) nasal spray 4mg as a donation from Cardinal Health. This donation will support CHI Memorial’s efforts to respond to opioid overdoses in Hamilton County.

    CHI Memorial’s cardiac and oncology television commercial series won the Silver Award at the 35th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. This program is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition. More than 4,000 entries were received this year.

  • New support group for women with advanced breast and gynecological cancers

    CHI Memorial Rees Skillern Cancer Institute’s has a new support group meeting for women diagnosed with stage III or IV breast or gynecological cancer. This group will meet the first and third Thursdays of each month from 12:30 – 2 p.m. The meetings will take place in the Center for Cancer Support.
