Brittany Kouzniaev Receives DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses

Brittany Kouzniaev, RN, recently received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

A patient’s family member nominated Kouzniaev for her attentiveness and compassion.  “Brittany was an impeccable nurse who provided intentional care that significantly improved my father's health. She developed a pain management system that provided my father with relief.  I saw a significant change in my father's progress thanks to the thoughtful work done by Brittany.  In addition to her excellent skills, her warm personality made my father feel at ease. She took the time to get to know him and eagerly answered any questions we had.”

Kouzniaev works at CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga on the 5 North telemetry unit and has worked at CHI Memorial since July 2019.

CHI Memorial is pleased to partner with the DAISY Foundation to recognize the extraordinary difference nurses make in the lives of patients and co-workers. Nurses are chosen each month to receive this wonderful award that honors compassionate care.  

Honorees receive a bouquet of daisies, a certificate, a copy of her/his nomination letter, and a beautiful and meaningful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch - hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.  The honoree's nursing unit also receives a cinnamon doughnut party, because it takes a team for a nurse to achieve his/her best.  Tasty Doughnuts generously donates the treats for this worthy cause.
