For the ninth straight year, CHI Memorial has once again been named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News and World Report.  On the list of Best Hospitals in Tennessee, CHI Memorial is ranked number three behind Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and Methodist Hospitals in Memphis.  Only 11 of Tennessee’s 136 hospitals meet U.S. News’ standards and are ranked. In addition, CHI Memorial received the number one ranking for hospitals in Chattanooga.

CHI Memorial also received a ‘high performing’ rating in 13 surgical procedures and chronic conditions evaluated by U.S. News: COPD, colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, lung cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery, stroke, and TAVR..

U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals in 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions; only 164 hospitals ranked in at least one of the specialties.  Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care, and patient experience. The rankings assist patients and their doctors in choosing the right hospital for them.
