Elizabeth's Out Run Melanoma 5K Goes Virtual
In order to keep everyone safe while educating the community about the dangers of melanoma, the 8Th annual Elizabeth’s Outrun Melanoma 5k has transitioned to a virtual race. This year’s event will be Saturday, August 15, 2020.
Transitioning to a virtual race for this family-friendly event means t you get to choose when, where, and how far you run. Whether in your neighborhood, your favorite trail, or at the gym, simply run or walk a 5k between August 9 - 22, 2020, and send in your results. For those with a competitive spirit, you will have the option to upload your official 5K time through the race GPS app.
To register as a race participant, visit memorial.org/race. The entry price is $30 and includes a race t-shirt. Participants can form a fundraising team to help make an even bigger impact in our community. There will be a drive-through race packet pick-up on Friday, August 14, 2020, at CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga, Entrance B, or you will have an option to have your t-shirt mailed to you.
Carb loading before your run? Or want a quick and easy dinner? We have you covered! We are offering drive-through dinner to include pasta, salad, and bread from NY Pizza Department. A single order is $15, and a family meal (4 servings) is $50. The pasta dinner can be ordered on the race registration page and will be available during packet pick-up on August 14. Race registration is not required to order the drive-through pasta dinner.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Elizabeth R. Smith Melanoma Program at CHI Memorial Rees Skillern Cancer Institute, which supports the prevention, awareness, and research of melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer.
