Anyone can develop a hernia which occurs when an organ pushes through, or sticks out, of a tear or opening in the muscle or tissue that holds it in place. Hernias are commonly found in the abdomen and groin, and will not heal without effective treatment.

We invite you to join us from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga Community Rooms (entrance B – surgery services) to learn more about this common condition.

Daniel Heithold, MD, FACS, J. Andrew Lovette, MD, FACS, Christina R. Parkhurst, MD, FACS, and Walter B. Rose, MD, FACS, of CHI Memorial Surgical Associates will perform screenings for hernias of the groin and abdomen. Hiatal hernia screening will not be available.  They will also discuss treatment options if appropriate.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration of the da Vinci Surgical System, the same system surgeons use here at CHI Memorial.

Register online for a screening appointment at Eventbrite.com.  Walk-ins are also welcome.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information on the event, visit Memorial.org/herniascreening.
