Free smoking cessation courses begin November 1 in Ooltewah

10/23/18

Tobacco use is the largest preventable cause of death and disease in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Within two weeks of quitting, former smokers have reduced their risk of having a heart attack, and improved their lung function.

CHI Memorial offers a free seven-week Freedom From Smoking ® program to help people stop smoking. The program teaches participants how to beat tobacco addiction, lifestyle changes that make quitting easier, stress management, how to avoid weight gain and how to stay smoke-free for good.

Freedom From Smoking ® is an American Lung Association program that has helped more than one million Americans overcome an addiction to nicotine during the past 30 years.

A new session will begin Thursday, November 1, 2018 at CHI Memorial Family Practice Associates – Ooltewah, located at 6401 Mountain View Road, Suite 109, Ooltewah, TN 37363.  The class will meet every Thursday for seven weeks from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

The program is designed for a small group setting.  Anyone who has a desire to stop smoking should call (423) 495-7778 to register for a class at a location convenient to you.  There is no charge for the program.
