CHI Memorial’s Center for Cancer Support received a generous donation from Ironcology, The Cupcake Cartel triathlon team, and the American Bicycle Group as part of the recent Ironman 70.3 held here in Chattanooga.
Representatives from the groups presented Terri Henderson, RN, nurse navigator at CHI Memorial’s Center for Cancer Support, with a check for $7,120. The money will be used for patient support services. “We were extremely honored to be able to accept this gift,” says Henderson. “It will go a long way to help our cancer patients receive gas cards and transportation, as well as assist with household bills, medications, etc., as they go through cancer treatment.”
CHI Memorial’s Joe and Virginia Schmissrauter Center for Cancer Support offers guidance and a full range of holistic care, and all services are free to cancer patients, regardless of where they received treatment, and their families. Our holistic approach means we provide care which supports your mind, body and spirit. Additional services include: Freedom From Smoking classes, massage therapy, nutrition classes, relaxation techniques, an extensive resource library, spiritual care, and more.
The Center is located on the CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga campus in the Plaza building, 605 Glenwood Drive, Suite 307, Chattanooga, TN. Parking and valet service is available at Entrance C. For more information, call (423) 495-7778.
