Julie Andrews Receives Daisy Award For Extraordinary Nurses

Julie Andrews, RN, recently received the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
A patient nominated Andrews for providing exceptional care. “One example of this ‘above and beyond’ was soaking my feet and giving me a back rub when I felt bad and was in a lot of pain. Julie’s extra attention improved my physical and mental well-being. She is so incredibly efficient to be able to give such intentional care and yet does not fall behind in her responsibilities to other patients. I am positive that because of this nurse, my overall outcome was much improved. Thank you to CHI Memorial, 500 South, and most of all to Julie Andrews. You have made a difference in the life of this patient and for that I am forever grateful!”
Andrews is a nurse at CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga. She has worked for CHI Memorial since December 2009.
CHI Memorial is pleased to partner with the DAISY Foundation to recognize the extraordinary difference nurses make in the lives of patients and co-workers. Nurses are chosen each month to receive this wonderful award that honors compassionate care.
Honorees receive a bouquet of daisies, a certificate, a beautiful and meaningful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch - hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa - and a copy of her/his nomination letter. The honoree's nursing unit also receives a cinnamon doughnut party, because it takes a team for a nurse to achieve his/her best. Tasty Doughnuts generously donates the treats for this worthy cause.
