Madelon Morgan Receives DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses

Madelon Morgan, RN, recently received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
A patient’s family member nominated Morgan for the compassion and excellent care she provided. “Everything I have seen in Madelon’s work is showing me how much she cares about giving quality care to the patient. My son is mentally and physically handicapped but he shows that he likes Madelon. He smiles when she comes into the room. He doesn’t resist when she has to do something to him. There is no doubt that Madelon is a very compassionate and dedicated nurse… I thank God for the excellent care my son is receiving thus far. I truly wish that others… will follow Madelon’s example. Their rewards will be plentiful.”
Morgan works at CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga on the 400 South medical/surgical unit and has worked at CHI Memorial since April 2022.
CHI Memorial is pleased to partner with the DAISY Foundation to recognize the extraordinary difference nurses make in the lives of patients and co-workers. Nurses are chosen each month to receive this wonderful award that honors compassionate care.
Honorees receive a bouquet of daisies, a certificate, a copy of her/his nomination letter, and a beautiful and meaningful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch - hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa. The honoree's nursing unit also receives a cinnamon doughnut party, because it takes a team for a nurse to achieve his/her best. Tasty Doughnuts generously donates the treats for this worthy cause.
