Young Philanthropists Make Donation to CHI Memorial Healthcare Workers

Two young entrepreneurs and philanthropists recently made a donation to CHI Memorial Foundation to support frontline workers at CHI Memorial. Olivia Atchley’s father, The Chattanooga Heart Institute cardiologist Allen Atchley, MD, recently taught her how to make surgical knots out of string. When they finished, they cut up the string and made bracelets. Olivia decided she wanted to make more bracelets to raise money for healthcare workers. She partnered with her friend, Audrey Gibler, and together, they made and sold enough bracelets to raise $320. “We were so impressed by the philanthropic spirit of these two young ladies. CHI Memorial relies on contributions from the community, and Olivia and Audrey have set the bar high as a wonderful example of giving. Their contributions will go directly to support front-line clinical staff caring for patients in CHI Memorial’s COVID units,” says Jennifer Nicely, CHI Memorial Foundation president.
