CHI Memorial’s comprehensive emergency centers provide state-of-the-art service at CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga, CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson and CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia. Our Chattanooga and Hixson locations are accredited chest pain centers and provide superior cardiac care with the support of the entire CHI Memorial team. Each center features private treatment rooms, including trauma and cardiac rooms, and specialty treatment rooms for fractures, multiple injuries, illnesses and communicable diseases. Highly trained stroke teams provide fast track evaluation and care of stroke patients.
Fast Track, a program that provides emergency level care for pediatric and adult patients who have minor illnesses and injuries, is available at each of our hospital campuses. When patients come to the ED they go through the triage process and are assigned to ED Fast Track based on the level of medical care they require. Fast Track is designed to evaluate and treat patients with minor problems more efficiently – helping them get in and out of the emergency department faster than otherwise possible.
Staffed with dedicated physicians and advanced nurse practitioners, Fast Track reduces the number of times an individual must relay information and ensures everyone on the care team is on the same page. This program has been shown to reduce overall wait times by identifying critical versus non-urgent medical needs, meaning people get the care they need – right when they need it.

Our EMS is committed to providing quality care and transport to individuals. Each ambulance is equipped with a cardiac monitor, defibrillator, and 12-lead EKG capability to identify a heart attack in the field, communications equipment to transmit EKGs to any emergency center, and a Global Positioning System to track each ambulance and facilitate sending the closest ambulance to the call.
