Advanced cancer care to heal the whole person

Micropigmentation/medical tattooing

For patients with breast cancer, their journey to healing may include both addressing physical needs and providing emotional support. After breast cancer, offering micropigmentation in a comfortable medical environment can give back an element of normalcy to survivors.

Most insurance companies provide coverage of areola micropigmentation, scar camouflage and permanent eyebrow make-up for breast cancer survivors.

Melissa Cate, CPCP, DAAM, micropigmentation specialist, is certified in areola micropigmentation, which restores the color and shape of the aerola after breast/nipple reconstruction by applying natural pigments to the dermal layer of skin. Hypoallergenic pigments are used to enhance skin tones to provide a natural result. Melissa is also certified in scar camouflage and provides permanent make-up application of eyebrows, lips and eyeliner.
