2018-2019 PGY-1 Residents
MEGAN NESBITT (PGY1) was born and raised in Calhoun, GA. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia in Athens and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta. During pharmacy school, Megan was active in professional organizations including APhA-ASP, Rho Chi Society, and Kappa Epsilon Pharmaceutical Fraternity. Her clinical interests include critical care, infectious disease, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. When not at work, Megan enjoys being outside, going to the gym, and spending time with her friends and family.
NISHA PATEL (PGY1) was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in Cleveland, TN. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry & Biology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. Throughout pharmacy school, she was actively involved in various pharmacy organizations, including SNPhA, APhA-ASP, and Rho Chi honor society. Nisha’s clinical interests include internal medicine and critical care. In her free time, Nisha enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, traveling, cooking, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
COURTNEY PEARSON (PGY1) was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies and Masters of Public Health from Samford University and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy. Throughout pharmacy school, she participated in several organizations including APhA-ASP, ASHP, and APA, as well as serving as a student ambassador. Her clinical interests include emergency medicine, oncology, and critical care. During her free time, Courtney enjoys trying new restaurants, cheering on Tennessee and Ohio State during football season, and spending time with friends and family.
ALANNA RUFE (PGY1) was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Science and subsequently her Pharm.D. from The University of Toledo. During pharmacy school she focused her efforts into SSHP and the pharmacy intern program at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Alanna’s clinical interests include infectious diseases, oncology, and critical care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, chilling with her cat, hiking the trails around Chattanooga, reading, and playing piano.
