Diagnostic x-ray

CBC (complete blood count) - A blood test used to evaluate red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. A CBC can help diagnose conditions such as anemia, infection, and other disorders.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panels - A blood test used to measure glucose level, electrolyte and fluid balance, kidney function, and liver function.

H. pylori Testing - A blood test used to determine if you have antibodies to H. pylori in your blood.

Lipid Profiles - A blood test that measures the amount of cholesterol and fats called triglycerides in the blood.

Mononucleosis (mono) Testing - A blood test used to diagnose used to determine if you have a mono infection.

Pregnancy (Urine) - A test to check the urine for human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone which is only present when a woman is pregnant

Quick Flu - Screening test for influenza virus infection.

Quick Strep A - The throat and tonsils are swabbed to collect bacteria from the infected area to determine if Group A strep (streptococcal) is present.

Urinalysis - A commonly used test to diagnose a urinary tract or kidney infection and to screen for progression of some chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure (hypertension)

On the urgent care side of the practice, we are here to take care of your immediate needs when you are in a hurry and can't wait on an appointment with your primary care, your primary care doctor cannot see you same day or your primary care office is closed. After your visit with us, we will encourage you to follow up with your primary care provider for continuation of care. Chronic conditions are best monitored by your primary care provider.

First we have to know which kind and which primary care provider is listed on your insurance card. If you have BlueCare or UHC community plan, we can see you if one of our providers is listed on your card.

As long as your condition is stable, you may go to the ER of your choice. If EMS is transporting you, they will help determine if your condition requires a trauma hospital or a hospital specializing in cardiology, etc.

We are open until 8 p.m. on weeknights and 5 p.m. on weekends, and we are open most major holidays. We ask that you use discretion when coming in close to end of the day. Ideally, please arrive 15 minutes before closing to allow time for registration.

We try our very best to provide quality patient care in a timely manner. We do not quote wait times because each visit can vary depending on the emergent needs of the patient.

There are times when critical patients (chest pain, sutures, etc.) may come in for care. The evaluation and treatment of those patients will take a bit longer which may increase the wait time for others. Two providers are on staff for approximately 8 hours of the day so that even when emergent cases come in, we can still keep everyone moving. If this happens, we explain the wait to those who are in the exam rooms and lobby.

Since we are a walk-in facility, our lobby can fill up in a matter of minutes. Late morning or early afternoon mid-week typically have shorter wait times. To speed up your visit, you may print and complete the registration forms or arrive early to fill out the paperwork at our office.

Since we use an electronic medical record, the majority of our medications are electronically sent to your pharmacy before you ever leave our office. The only time you will receive a hand written prescription is when your prescription is a controlled substance such as a cough syrup with codeine in it or a pain medication due to a fracture.

Each visit cost varies based on the treatment provided. There is an office visit charge. Lab or x-ray charges are in addition to the office visit charge. If you are not able to afford the charges at time of check-out, we have financial aid applications you can fill out and mail in to assist you with your balance.

If your insurance card lists how much an office visit co-pay is, that is what we will collect from you at time of service. If it does not specify a co-pay, we try to determine your co-pay or co-insurance through portals with your insurance carrier. If you have a deductible that has not been met, you will owe the deductible plus the co-pay and will be billed for any remaining balance. If you have an outstanding balance with our office or any other CHI Memorial office, we will let you know about that at your visit as well.
