CHI Memorial Interventional Pulmonology provides care for patients with lung cancer and other complex medical needs requiring advanced interventional pulmonology procedures. The practice is part of Buz Standefer Lung Center and is led by Krish Bhadra, MD, fellowship-trained interventional pulmonologist, who joined CHI Memorial Medical Group in 2011.
A leader in the field of lung cancer care, Dr. Bhadra was the first physician in the United States to use FlouroNavigational bronchoscopy, and CHI Memorial is one of the highest volume sites in the world for Cone Beam CT. These are advanced techniques that detect lung cancer in its early stages when it's most treatable and survival rates increase significantly.
Under Bhadra's leadership, CHI Memorial has reduced the time between a patient's lung cancer diagnosis and start of treatment from two to four months to two or three weeks.
